Coming to Canada

Immigrating to Canada permanently is an exciting opportunity. However, there are several things you should consider before you apply to be a permanent resident.

Every year, more than 180,000 foreign workers enter Canada to work temporarily in jobs that help Canadian employers address skill shortages. A work permit is needed for most temporary jobs in Canada.

Every year, more than 35 million people visit Canada to enjoy the many opportunities our country has to offer, including visiting family and friends.

Close to 100,000 students come to study in Canada every year. Foreign students bring a rich culture to our classrooms. Your knowledge and skills are welcome in our schools.

What's New?

Employment Minister Jason Kenny and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced sweeping change to the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFWP) last June 20, 2014. Together with the announcement, the moratorium for hiring Temporary Foreign Workers for the Food Services Sector is also lifted but will however be subjected to the new rules and regulations as announced by ESDC and CIC. For more information on the changes, please read here. To know more about the program changes or if you need help on this matter, please contact us.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada begins accepting applications to the Federal Skilled Worker Program beginning May 1, 2014. Find out more about the program
